SOLD 19c. Child’s Blanket Chest

19c. Child’s Blanket Chest
I love the simplicity of this early child’s blanket chest, with its scalloped apron and bootjack cut-out sides. Constructed of pine using square and irregular nails, it has a lift-up top and two drawers, one of which is divided into three storage areas. The chest retains its early paint of deep blue over sea foam green. It no longer has the original hinges or working lock, and the drawer bottom in the blanket storage area has been replaced — honest repairs that in no way diminish its appeal. The chest is 25” W X 21” H X 12-1/2” D. American, mid-1800s. Very sturdy condition.
