Whimsical Figure by Artist Lee Musselman (1956-2013)

One of my all time favorite outsider artists was the the late sculptor Lee Musselman whose work I’ve collected and featured at New York City’s Outsider Art Fair. Not only was Lee’s work featured in “Art in America,” his inventive assemblages featuring “lost”dolls, toys, tools, and all manner of unexpected objects are legendary.

The piece featured here is from his “Whinsey” collection and features two stylish figures, one wearing pearls and a fashionable beaded Sunday hat, the other stacked above her wearing a hat made of wiring crowned by an eagle.

The assenblage is 10-1/2″ tall X 10″ wide. Signed on the underside. Perfect condition.
