Since I’m often attracted to the curious and quirky, this is an object I couldn’t resist: a vintage beach ball-size wire ball. I found it in Iowa on my way to the Midwest Antiques & Art Show where the curios and quirky (along with folky and fine) are always on display. Of unknown age and origin, the ball is constructed of old rusty wire that’s been twisted into almost (but not quite) a perfect sphere — about 45” in circumference. What to do with such a find? The possibilities are wide open!
