Straw-Stuffed Hand-Made Elephant With History
Acquired from a Klamath Falls Estate, the elephant is constructed of what looks like an early twill fabric, with orange button eyes, stuffed muslin tusks, and stuffed tail. The felt-like saddle blanket is somewhat faded on the surface, but when unfolded, depicts a collection of 12 British Commonwealth flags that appear to pre-date the federation of Australia in 1901. Photo of a little girl (original owner?) climbing on the elephant is dated 1918. Elephant measures 16½” L X 12½” H X 22″ in girth.
