Early 1930s Volland Raggedy Ann & Andy
Among the last of the Volland Ann and Andys, this 16″ closely matched pair dates from 1931 to 1934. As was characteristic of these dolls at the time, Ann is a brunette, Andy’s a redhead. Ann wears “boots,” Andy wears “slippers.” Neither Ann nor Andy are jointed at the knees or elbows. Ann retains her original wooden heart and clothing. Andy’s clothing is original but he’s missing his bow tie. At some point in her 75 years of life, Ann had her left arm re-attached. Both dolls are in very good condition with a slight darkening of the fabric on the face, but no holes, tears, or replacement parts.
