Early Folk Art Cane with a Snake
I love the folky elegance (or elegant folkiness) of this turn-of-the-20thc cane featuring a finely crafted snake around a slender staff. The 36ā cane is made of varnished, painted, burned wood (probably maple) with nail eyes. The snake may have been carved separately and glued on. American. Excellent condition. Turn of the 20thc.

Note from Jean:
This is one of five folk at canes that Iām adding to the Gallery in the next few days.
