Early 19th c. Heart and Hand Cookie Cutters
What better way to display and preserve a pair of hard-to-find early heart and hand cookie cutters than on a custom stand? When the previous owner acquired them from American Primitive Gallery, they were already mounted just as you see them here, and their folk art status was assured. Both cookie cutters are hand made of cut tin, date from the mid-1800s and are in very good condition. The open palm cookie cutter is 4-5/8” X 4” and the heart is 3” X 3”. As the photos show, on the backside of the hand is clue to their age and origin — a tiny tag that reads “Pa. 1840s.”
