Made of 1930s and ‘40s rayon silk and crepe dress fabric, this vivacious quilt is made of 255 machine-stitched pieces, each 5” X 4” and each outlined by delicate featherstitching with multi-colored thread. All the quilting is done by hand, and the quilt is backed by a piece of mauve colored rayon, which wraps around the front to form a color-rich border. I especially love the mixture of paisley prints in various colors, along with geometric patterns and abstract designs. Quilt size is 81-1/2” X 71-1/2”. Origin and maker unknown. Excellent condition.
