SOLD Big 1930s Mauve Mohair Teddy Bear

This straw stuffed, fully jointed American teddy stands an impressive 32″ tall, has 5″-long feet, and a chest girth of 27-1/2″. Truly a BIG, “mauvelous” bear! The amber and black glass eyes, horizontally stitched nose, and felt paw pads are all original. Mohair coverage is excellent, and while the color has faded a bit with time, you can see its original vibrancy around the ears and joints. The only flaw I can find is a tiny split in the ankle seam of the right leg. Maker unknown. Late 1920s-early ’40s when colored mohair bears were in vogue.
