I recent acquisition of small chairs includes this 19th c. handcrafted country chair for a toddler or smallish child. As the photos show, it’s made with acorn finials, pegged stretchers and a woven splint seat and retains its early if not original apple green paint. The overall condition is very good — it’s sturdy enough to be put to use — with only a few small breaks to the splints and moderate paint loss. I’ve included a number of detailed views of construction and condition details. Late 1800s.
