I love the printed Turkey red backing on this early quilt as much as I love the front. With an all-over print of peacocks and flower, the cotton turkey red fabric dates from the 1880s to 1890s and is in very good condition. The front side of the quilt, dating to the early 1900s, is all hand pieced and quilted and features a Lone Star pattern with stars of soft yellow and salmon on blocks of light fern green — which also serves as the quilted border. This is a lightweight summer quilt with no batting that measures 81” X 71”. Overall condition is very good, with one or two small stains on the front and modest edge wear. Please note that photos were shot in natural light and bright sunlight to capture the true colors of the fabric.
