Three Tiered Tramp Art Wall Pocket
The decorative surface of this chip carved wall pocket is what caught my eye: carved stylized leaves applied to the front and sides and finished with a web of black over white paint. I also love the form, especially the graduated pockets. The back of the piece is covered with a piece of early patterned wallpaper on which someone has printed the initials “EJ.”
I’d date this piece first quarter 20th century, but I suspect that this particular paint treatment was added some time later. 13-3/4” H X9” at the widest point X 3-1/2” D at the widest.
