SOLD Large Native American Painted Storage Basket

The rich patina of this hand-woven storage basket is what first caught my eye, along with the warm brown and sienna potato paint. And then I noticed the two designs — possibly tribal simples? — that make this a special piece. It’s not in perfect condition, as the photos show. But the wear is minor, given its age and functional purpose. Measurements are 15-1/2” L x 10-1/2” W x 7-1/2” H. Late 1800s. From the collection of Charlean Jacson of Austin, Texas.
