Folk Art Cane with Whittled Whimseys
Hand carved from a single piece of soft wood, this folky 33” cane features a small knob handle, the original worn tip and three whittled ball-in-cage whimseys above a tapered shaft. While the cane is rustic in style, the unknown maker has added interesting details such as faceted corners on all of the rectangular cages. The piece retains its original painted surface with minor paint loss from expected wear, but no breaks or repairs. Very good condition. Southern, 19th c.
