What a great find!– an early set of 20 litho-over-wood puzzle blocks in the original 10” X 8” box, accompanied by picture guides to the puzzles that are all in perfect condition. There are six puzzles in all, the sixth being the horse that’s on the cover of the box.
Probably German-made in the late 1800s to early 1900s, this is a piece that — despite expected wear to the box and miner play wear to some of the blocks — is in good to very good to excellent condition.
I’ve included a couple of photos of assembled puzzles and their picture guides to show, not only how vibrant the colors are, but also how charming the scenes are themselves. The six puzzles feature scenes with a horse, an ox, turkeys, geese and a goat, a buck and doe, and a collie.
