SOLD 1920s Zuni Frog Pot

1920s Zuni Frog Pot
I decided to post this example of Native American pottery in the Folk Art Gallery because of its whimsical, folky appeal. This is a piece that was de-accessioned from the Zanesville, Ohio, library museum. It’s a small pot — 4-3/4″ tall X 6-1/4″ in diameter — with a white slip and polychrome surface.
The pot is in very good condition, with a small hairline crack at the lip as the photos show. But, of course, its the frogs themselves that make this such a great piece.
